Player Character Sheet

Updated July 2026

Your character sheet is a full view of a single character — every stat, attribute, and detail from your last session, ready to read or update.

How to open a character sheet

From the Characters screen, tap any character card. The sheet opens immediately, showing that character's current state.

When you navigate back to your Characters screen from the sheet, your roster refreshes automatically — any HP or name changes you made are reflected without needing a manual reload.

Hit Points

Your current HP is shown at the top of the sheet with a colour-coded bar:

  • Green — 60% health or above
  • Amber — between 30% and 59%
  • Red — below 30%

Adjusting HP: Use the and + buttons on either side of your HP value. Each tap saves immediately — no separate Save button needed for HP. Your HP cannot go below 0 or above your maximum.

Name and Concept

Your character's name and concept are both editable. Tap either field to make changes. A Save Changes button appears at the bottom of the screen once you've made edits.

  • Tap Save Changes to commit — the bar disappears and your changes are written to your account.
  • Navigate away without saving and your edits are discarded. Your HP is always saved automatically, so only name and concept changes can be lost this way.
  • Your name cannot be blank — if you clear it and try to save, you'll see an inline error.

Defenses

Guard, Toughness, and Resolve are shown beneath HP, calculated automatically from your stored attribute scores:

DefenseFormula
Guard10 + Agility + Might
Toughness10 + Fortitude + Will
Resolve10 + Presence + Will

These update whenever your attributes change. No manual refresh needed.

Banked Attribute Points

If you saved attribute points during character creation — or haven't yet spent all your creation budget — a blue notice appears below your defenses showing how many you have in reserve.

Spending banked points is part of the level-up feature, coming in a future update. For now this is display only.

Attributes

All 18 Open Legend attributes are listed below your defenses, grouped into Physical, Mental, Social, and Extraordinary. Each row shows:

  • Attribute name
  • Die label — the dice you roll when using this attribute (e.g. d8 at score 3, 2d6 at score 5)
  • Score

Attribute scores are read-only in this version — you can't edit them directly on this screen. Spending banked points and levelling up are planned for a future release.

Rolling from the Attribute List

Every attribute row is tappable. Look for the small dice icon on the right side of each row — tap anywhere on the row to open a roll panel for that attribute.

The roll panel

The panel slides up and shows you:

  • Attribute name and score — e.g. "Fortitude · Score 3 · d8"
  • What you're rolling — e.g. "Rolling: d20 + d8" (or "d20 only" if the score is 0)
  • Advantage and Disadvantage controls — adjust each from 0 to 3 independently

Advantage and Disadvantage

Tap + or under Advantage or Disadvantage to set your level (0–3 each). The panel shows the net result — for example, Advantage 2 and Disadvantage 1 gives Net Advantage 1.

  • Advantage X: extra attribute dice are rolled and the lowest X are dropped before adding
  • Disadvantage X: extra attribute dice are rolled and the highest X are dropped before adding
  • They cancel each other — only the difference applies

Rolling

Tap Roll. The result panel shows each die individually:

  • The d20 result
  • Each attribute die result — dice that rolled their maximum value explode, rolling again and adding to the total (shown as 💥 +N)
  • Any dice that were dropped due to disadvantage are shown dimmed
  • The total is displayed large in amber at the bottom

Tap Roll Again to re-roll with the same attribute and the same advantage/disadvantage settings.

Closing the panel

Tap outside the panel, tap the drag handle at the top, or press the back button on Android. No character data is changed by rolling.

Tap any attribute to roll it — you don't need to leave the character sheet or open the Dice tab for Open Legend action rolls.
Explosions chain — if an exploded die also rolls its maximum, it explodes again. The displayed 💥 +N total covers the full chain.
Advantage and disadvantage reset each time you open a new attribute's panel — they don't carry over between attributes.
