GM The GM Workspace

Updated July 2026

The GM workspace is where you run games. It's a separate area of the app — distinct from your Player workspace — with its own tabs for managing campaigns, scenarios, and players.

The GM workspace is hidden by default. You unlock it once, permanently, from your Profile.

How to unlock GM Mode

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Enable GM Mode in the GM Mode section.
  3. Read the confirmation dialog and tap Enable GM Mode to confirm.

This is a one-time, permanent action — GM Mode cannot be disabled once enabled. See Your Profile for full details on the confirmation flow.

Switching between workspaces

Once GM Mode is active, a Player | GM toggle pill appears at the top of the screen, above the tab bar.

  • Tap GM to enter the GM workspace — the tab bar switches to GM tabs (Campaigns and Profile)
  • Tap Player to return to your Player workspace — your Characters, Dice, and Profile tabs return

The switch is instant. You always start in the Player workspace, even after enabling GM Mode — tapping "GM" is what takes you there.

The toggle is only visible to accounts with GM Mode enabled. Players who haven't opted in see no change to their interface.

GM workspace tabs

The GM workspace has two tabs:

TabWhat it does
CampaignsCreate and manage your campaigns
ProfileThe same Profile screen as in the Player workspace

Your Profile tab is shared between both workspaces — changes made in one are reflected in the other.

Campaigns

The Campaigns tab lists all the campaigns you've created. From here you can create new campaigns, open existing ones, and delete campaigns you no longer need.

Free, Ad-supported, and Ad-free accounts can have 1 campaign. Pro accounts have no limit.

See Campaigns for a full guide.

You're always a Player too. GM Mode adds the GM workspace alongside your existing Player workspace — your characters and dice are untouched. Switch back to Player any time.
The mode switch only appears for GMs. Your players won't see it. They have no awareness of the GM workspace until you share content with them.
Both workspaces share the same Profile tab. You can manage your account, change your username, or log out from either workspace — you don't need to switch back to Player first.
