Your Profile
Updated July 2026
Your Profile screen is where you manage your account details, change your username, and log out. It's also where you unlock the GM workspace if you want to run games.
Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen to get here — it's available in both the Player and GM workspaces.
Changing your username
Your username is shown at the top of the Account section. Tap the field to edit it.
A Save Username button appears once you've made a change. Tap it to save.
- Your username cannot be blank — an inline error appears if you try to save with an empty or whitespace-only field.
- If the username you've chosen is already taken, you'll see "Username already taken" and no change will be saved. Choose a different name and try again.
- The error clears as soon as you start typing again.
Email and plan
Your email address is shown below your username and is read-only — it can't be changed from within the app.
Your plan is shown as a label on the right ("Free", "Ad-supported", "Ad-free", or "Pro"). This is also read-only.
Enabling GM Mode
The GM Mode section appears below your account details. If you haven't enabled GM Mode yet, you'll see a "Become a Game Master" section with an Enable GM Mode button.
Tapping it opens a confirmation dialog that explains what GM Mode unlocks:
- Create and manage campaigns
- Run scenarios and track NPC health
- Share loot with your players
Tap Enable GM Mode in the dialog to confirm. Once enabled:
- The dialog closes and the section changes to "GM Mode Active"
- A Player | GM toggle appears at the top of the screen — tap it to switch between your Player and GM workspaces
- GM Mode remains active on every future login — it is saved to your account, not just your device
See The GM Workspace for what to do next.
Content — profanity filter
A Profanity filter switch lives in the Content section. It's on by default, and masks strong language wherever other people's free-typed text shows up around the app — Open Table pitches, Commons listing titles and pitches, and the "Who are you at the table?" line players attach to seat requests. A masked word appears as asterisks at its original length, so you can tell something was filtered without seeing what it was.
Turn it off if you'd rather see the text as written. Filtering is based on your own toggle, not the author's — it affects what *you* see, regardless of who wrote it, including your own text read back to you elsewhere in the app.
If you're under 18, this is locked on and the switch shows "Locked on for accounts under 18." instead of being tappable.
Search still matches the real, unmasked text underneath — filtering only changes what's displayed, not what you can find.
Logging out
Tap Log Out in the Session section at the bottom of the screen. You'll be returned to the sign-in screen immediately — no confirmation is needed.
Logging out clears your session and your local character data. Everything is saved to your account, so it'll all be there when you sign back in.
